There have been many changes in the peripheral side of things in the computing world. Lots of formats have come and went in the last decade such as three revisions of the USB standard and the FireWire standard. Apple and Intel decided to up the ante and develop a new format that would shatter the glass ceiling again. And they-ve done it with a new format called Thunderbolt which was ushered in with Apple-s latest laptops and Imacs that were released earlier this summer.

Is Thunderbolt everything that it- s cracked up to be? Is it really that big of a leap on the evolutionary chain of peripheral devices? Simply put, Thunderbolt obliterates every other standard that-s come down the pike combined. For comparision-s sake, USB 3.0 is rated at 5 GB/per second and FireWire 800 (Apple-s last standard) is rated at 800 MB/per second. Thunderbolt is rated at 10 GB/per second on one channel, keeping in mind that every Thunderbolt port has two channels one can see the possibilities.

Thunderbolt also has the advantage of it being bi-directional meaning that it can both receive and transmit data simultaneously. You can use one Thunderbolt port and cable to connect many different peripherals simultaneously with no degradation of speed. The only caveat of course is that you-re limited to what you-re plugging into it (e.g. plugging a USB 2.0 device into the TB chain will only give USB 2.0 speeds for that particular device.)

The Apple TV is the newest must have in the PC to TV systems by synching your Itunes media so you can to enjoy it from your HDTV and home theater system. If you install the Apple TV correctly, Itunes will automatically upload any new media you download directly to Apple TV.

To sync your Itunes Media to your Apple TV is really a simple and fast process. If you know how to sync your Ipod with Itunes then you should have no problem at all with this, as it is very similar. You can sync all of you Itunes media to Apple TV such as videos, audiobooks, photos, podcasts and music.

On your computer or laptop, log into your Itunes account from the Itunes website. From the “Sources’ menu, select “Syncing’. Then open “Devices’ in Itunes and choose “Apple TV’. The sync will begin and it will import your Itunes library to your Apple TV.

I’ve been a big fan of the tablet since it first came out, so naturally when the iPad 2 was released I was one of the first to try it. The first thing I noticed was that the tablet is much thinner than the previous models. This is pretty amazing it itself because the last model was only 1/2 inch thick. The new model is just under .34-inches, making it incredibly light and easy to carry. I was worried that the thinner size might decrease performance speed, but the tablet is faster than ever.Get more information here. http://www.macworld.com/article/162119/2011/09/week_in_ipad_cases_28.html I use the iPad 2 for a lot, including playing games, watching videos, listening to music and browsing the web. Despite my constant use, it still performs just as fast as the day I got it. The display is great too, images are crystal clear and I actually prefer to watch videos on my tablet rather than my tv. The speakers on the iPad 2 have been moved to the back of tablet and create a much clearer sound. Best of all, even with constant video watching, the battery life on the tablet is amazing. It’s yet to die on me yet and I’ve gone as much as five days without charging my iPad 2. That’s with constant use of the features too.
